About Us

About Us

EE stands for Evangelism Explosion. It is an international ministry which seeks to train and equip church leaders and ordinary believers (clergy and laity) for evangelism and discipleship. It was founded by Dr. James Kennedy in 1963 as a non-profit corporation. In more than 30 years, God has spread this ministry in all the 212 political nations of the world. Over 200 denominations are using it in their churches.

Evangelism Explosion (EE) is an effective training and discipling ministry which equips people to share the Gospel using simple Bible verses and lively illustrations. New trainees gain confidence and experience as they go with, watch, and learn from more experienced trainers.

EE utilizes the incremental learning process. This intentional, non-confrontational method has proven effective in training thousands to be soul winners and winning tens of thousands of people to Christ for over 40 years. Through this gentle approach, EE helps ordinary people like you and me overcome our fear of witnessing for Jesus.

As more people become focused and active in obeying Christ's Great Commission, our churches will be equipped to reach out to their communities with the life-changing message of the Gospel

Our Vision

Every nation equipping every people group and every age group to witness to every person.

Our Mission

To glorify God by equipping believers to multiply in and through local churches worldwide -for Friendship, evangelism, discipleship, and healthy growth.

Statement of Faith

(for the Partnership)

The Evangelism Explosion International Statement of Faith is a broad evangelical declaration that closely parallels the content of the Gospel presentation in the book Evangelism Explosion by D. James Kennedy and the concepts considered vital for the furthering of this ministry. All members of the Partnership are required to concur with this statement. EE seeks in no way to circumvent denominational distinctives. Rather, it is a ministry for evangelicals of varying denominational persuasions and nationalities to be in unity by agreeing to the simple truths and proclamation of the Gospel.

We Believe

1. The Bible is the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God.

2. There is one God, eternally existent in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

3. Our Lord Jesus Christ is God and Man in One Person. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, performed miracles, and vicariously atoned for sin through His shed blood and death.

He was bodily resurrected from the dead, He ascended to the right hand of God the Father, and He will personally return in power and glory.

4. Regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential for the salvation of lost and sinful man.

5. Eternal life is received by faith—that is, trusting in Jesus Christ alone for salvation.

6. The Holy Spirit indwells all true believers and enables them to live a Godly life.

7. Both the saved and the lost will be resurrected from the dead—they that are saved unto the resurrection of life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.

8.There is a spiritual unity of all true believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.

9. The local church is the primary God-established base of operation for evangelistic activity in the world.

10. Every true believer is commissioned of Christ to “preach the Gospel to every creature”1 and to “make disciples of all nations”2.

11. Inexperienced witnesses are best enabled to share the Gospel by participation in discipleship groups that include on-the-job training in actual witnessing situations led by more experienced witnesses.

Statement of Core Values

WE BELIEVE THE BEST WAY TO EQUIP IS THROUGH OJT (ON-THE-JOB-TRAINING)

On-the-job training is vital to training Christians to be effective witnesses for Jesus. OJT is practical training in real-life situations by experienced mentors.

OJT is one of the key elements that makes EE so effective and flows out of Christ command, “Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.” (Matthew 4:19).

WE HAVE A MANDATE

We believe that our ministry is mandated by Christ in the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20) and endeavor to obey that mandate. Jesus’ last command must be our first concern.

WE ARE RELATIONAL

The best way to multiply is by sharing the Gospel through the networks of relationships that God gives us. We are about connecting people with the God of the universe, so relationships are critical (1 Thessalonians 2:8).

WE ARE INDIGENOUS

We believe that the world will be reached through strong national spiritual movements that engage the Church in her rightful role in outreach. For EE, these movements take place within strong, national ministries...

—self-governing, self-supporting and multiplying under the guiding call of our commonly held vision statement. (Declaration of Indigenization for the Partnership, and Vision for our Partnership)

WE BELIEVE IN SPIRITUAL MULTIPLICATION

We believe that the most effective way to keep up with an exploding population is through an evangelism explosion. Evangelism “Explosion” does not refer to some act of destruction. It refers to the multiplying of way-of-life witnesses and follows the Great Commission where we are told to..

“teach them to observe all things whatsoever that I have commanded you” (which includes the command to go - Matthew 28:20).

WE USE A CLEAR, CONCISE COMMUNICATION OF THE GOSPEL

We make an effort to communicate the Good News of the Gospel in as clear and concise a manner as possible without adding offense that blocks hearing or extraneous information that clouds understanding (1 Corinthians 2:1-2).

WE ARE ASSISTANTS TO THE LOCAL CHURCH

We believe in the Church of Jesus Christ. Our desire is to come along side of pastors and key leaders to assist them to do what Christ has commanded them to do. After all, they are the ones given the responsibility of equipping the saints for Christ (Ephesians 4:11-13).

Our job is to assist them in doing this important work.

WE ARE CHRISTIAN

The ministry of Evangelism Explosion seeks to proclaim the truth of Jesus in every activity of our ministry (even in mercy type ministry as we are overtly Christian). We believe that activities that only show “good works,” doing good deeds without ever mentioning Jesus, actually share an “anti-gospel”...
